I live at Viale dei Mille, 142 and Stefano is our building manager. He is impossible to contact, directly or through our real estate agency. While the apartment looks beautiful, we cannot get any maintenance in a timely manner. We have not had air conditioning for two months and it is now July and reaching over 40 degrees daily. When we moved in, we had no light fixtures, just loose wires hanging out of 12 holes in the walls. That took about a month in darkness before it was fixed. The cabinetry is cheap, often delaminating or coming off the hinges, both making it impossible for the cabinets to close. I had to try to screw down the delamination in order to close the cabinet doors and currently the freezer needs to be lifted up and forced in to close. The blinds snapped in the master bedroom and they are now stuck partially open. It is impossible to let in any sort of cool breeze in the evenings, but also the room is fully illuminated by 0600. One of the toilets stopped flushing and it was a two-week battle to get a plumber in. The plumber installed a temporary fix for a corroded plunger but has not been back with the replacement plunger. We were told to just flush gently, but it’s a button on the wall so I’m not sure exactly sure how long it will be until it stops flushing again. The electrical is all messed up. Half of the outlets do not work, the light switches control random lights in the apartment instead of the ones in the room you are in, and the outlets in the smallest bedroom only work when the lights are off. The medium bedroom only has outlets on one half of the room so everything needs to be plugged into one area. None of these would be too outrageous on their own, but put them together with the fact that monthly rent is 3,500 euros, including a 400-euro monthly condo fee and it is incredibly frustrating.
